Objective: The main objective of Margadarshi is to prepare students for Corporate Jobs.
Brief Description of Activity:
Ms. Ashwini Prabhu – Alumni of MMS Operations Batch of 2014 delivered lecture on the topic “Back to B-School” a guidance session on how to swim in the corporate world. At present she is working as Lead Project Manager (Enterprise & Solutions Delivery) at ComplianceMetrics CMX1, USA. She discussed role of mentor in guiding students. Mentor show the way and student must pave their own way. She emphasized on why MMS/PGDM course is essential, which is due to the following factors like better career prospects, widely recognized credential, develop management and leadership skills, make a successful career change, immense working opportunities, higher earning potential, personality development and gaining in-depth knowledge of business world. Before taking dive into the corporate world, she suggested 10 tips for preparation of CV. She discussed 6 tips for preparation of interview like research the company and interviewers, prepare anticipated questions and responses, utilize STAR Method, create a list of references, provide examples of work, and prepare a list of questions for the interviewers.
After getting selected and joining the company, Ms. Ashwini Prabhu stressed that student must carve out his own space in the vast ecosystem of corporate. She had given suggestions like not to copy what others are doing to outshine, instead compete with yourself, honestly complete your tasks, always be cordial with your colleagues, be vocal about any kind of mistreatment, always keep a positive and humble attitude, be the leader not the manager, and never get influenced by anyone’s resignation.
Then she discussed about the certain important points to remember like always take a stand when you are right, keep upgrading for self-development, be well versed with market updates, do not overexert, keep patience, resilience and hard work, believe in your strengths and be the brand ambassador of the Institute. Then she answered many questions from students. Overall guest lecture session was interactive.

In order to acquaint our students about the working in the corporate world and the expectations of the recruiters SVIMS has undertaken a new initiative this year under the name and banner of Margdarshan
SVIMS invites alumni that are working in different industries as also those who have ventured into their own business to interact with our students on how to shape up for facing the corporate world & its challenges.
The students attending these sessions come prepared with their FAQ’s which are discussed during such sessions and feel satisfied after attending them. The fears, anxieties & myths are addressed in these sessions and student feel confident for facing the recruiters during interviews. The alumni also share their contact details with students for any future queries and guidance.

Session By Mr. Soham Prabhulkar
Mr. Soham Prabhulkar a student from 2012 to 2014 batch of SVIMS who is currently doing his Masters in Data Analytics from Colorado state University USA was invited to help our students of MMS & PGDM to find out educational & employment opportunities abroad. Around 25 students attended this live interactive session. In this session he mainly updated students about H1B Visa formalities how it has become easy to get opportunities in USA elsewhere for further studies employment.The session was well received by the students.
